The Role: We are looking to recruit a Criminal Duty Solicitor to join our busy and respected team covering Barrow-in-Furness and Kendal (on rota). We welcome applications from candidates based outside the immediate area. For the right candidate, we are open to discussing a working arrangement that reflects their location and experience, although regular attendance in our Barrow office for approximately 2–3 days per week would still be required to support clients, colleagues and operational needs. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a duty accredited solicitor with at least 12 months’ experience in criminal law who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and progressive firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent and advise clients on a wide range of criminal matters
- Attend police stations and courts as part of the duty solicitor scheme
- Manage caseloads effectively using the firm’s case management system
- Deliver excellent client care and communication
- Participate in the out-of-hours police station rota
- Promote the firm’s full range of services
