Main Purpose
Software testing is the act of examining the output and behaviour of the software under test by validation and verification. Software testing can also provide an objective, independent view of the software to allow the business to appreciate and understand the risks of software implementation. Test techniques include, but are not necessarily limited to:
- Analysing the product requirements for completeness and correctness in various contexts like industry perspective, business perspective, feasibility and viability of implementation, usability, performance, security, infrastructure considerations, etc.
- Reviewing the product architecture and the overall design of the product.
- Working with product developers on improvement in coding techniques, design patterns, tests that can be written as part of code based on various techniques like boundary conditions, etc.
- Executing a program or application with the intent of examining behaviour.
- Reviewing the deployment infrastructure and associated scripts and automation.
- Taking part in production activities by using monitoring and observability techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Understands business/functional change requirements, designing, and developing test plan/test scenarios and identifying test data requirements, test execution and defect tracking/management.
- Understands and applies the principles of Quality Assurance.
- Automates software tests and builds sufficient meaningful test coverage.
- Develops from scratch or contributes to existing testing frameworks and test infrastructure.
- Applies both Agile & Waterfall project delivery methodologies and adapts to work with evolving practices.
- Creates and maintains comprehensive regression test routines leveraging automation tools where available.
- Provides clear and succinct verbal updates on their work to all levels of the business at Poole Bay Holdings Management Ltd.
- Keeps up to date with testing methods, automation software and the IT landscape as a whole.
