We are pleased to offer an exciting Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) opportunity within our Civil Litigation Department to be based out of our office in Sandbach, Cheshire. This office based role is perfect for an aspiring solicitor who is looking to develop their practical legal skills in a supportive and professional environment.
The ideal candidate will be a law graduate (or equivalent) who is intending to qualify as a solicitor via the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route. You will have a genuine interest in civil litigation and dispute resolution, strong communication and organisational skills, and a professional, proactive approach to your work. Previous experience in a legal or litigation environment is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities- Support solicitors with day‑to‑day case administration
- Act as a first point of contact for clients and handle telephone enquiries
- Update case management systems and maintain accurate client files
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents
- Handle confidential information responsibly
- Complete required training and maintain a training diary
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as required
- A qualifying law degree or equivalent, with a clear intention to qualify as a solicitor via the SQE route
- A genuine interest in civil litigation and dispute resolution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and professional correspondence
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines effectively
- A professional, proactive and client‑focused approach
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good research and analytical skills, with the ability to apply legal principles in practice
- Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
- A willingness to learn, develop and take responsibility under supervision
