MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE: The Investment Analyst supports the Head of Investments in managing the company’s investment portfolio, contributing to research, monitoring, analysis, and strategic decision making. This role plays a key part in ensuring the investment function operates with strong compliance oversight, governance and responsiveness to market and regulatory developments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Portfolio Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor performance, risk metrics, and exposures across the company’s investment portfolio, preparing regular dashboards and commentary for senior leadership. Support the Head of Investments in evaluating portfolio positioning relative to strategic asset allocation and risk constraints.
  • Manager & Asset Class Research: Prepare materials for manager review meetings and maintain documentation of ongoing oversight. Assist in due diligence processes, including reviewing manager reports, performance data, and ESG disclosures. Support Head of Investments on research of external investment managers, funds and asset classes within the company's investment risk appetite.
  • Strategic Support & Decision Preparation: Prepare investment proposals, briefing notes, and scenario analyses to support strategic decisions by the Head of Investments, CFIO and Investment Committee. Contribute to the development and refinement of investment policies, guidelines, and risk frameworks. Support the strategic asset allocation review process with data gathering, modelling, and comparative analysis.
  • Reporting & Communication: Produce clear, concise investment reports for internal stakeholders, including senior management, the Investment Committee, and the Board. Coordinate with actuarial, finance, and risk teams to ensure investment insights are integrated into broader business planning. Maintain organised, accurate documentation of research, analyses, and investment decisions.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Skills/Competencies: Experience in investment analysis, asset management, insurance investments, or a related financial field. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly. Proficiency with analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Clearwater, Bloomberg, or similar platforms). Ability to work independently in a small team environment, managing multiple priorities.
  • Qualifications: Progress toward CFA, IMC, or similar professional qualification. Preferable experience working within the investment function for other insurance companies. Experience working with external investment managers or multi-asset portfolios. Understanding of ESG integration and sustainability related investment considerations.
