Pool Hayes Academy are looking to appoint a creative and organised Science Technician, with a real drive to enhance students’ experience of secondary education. The successful candidate will work in partnership with class teachers to support with resources, learning and technical support to meet the needs of the Science department. They will ensure compliance with health and safety and security measures at all times and support teachers and students with practical activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and technical support for science lessons and experiments.
  • Assist with preparation and management of resources and equipment for the Science department.
  • Ensure health and safety and security measures are followed at all times.
  • Support teachers and students during practical activities.
  • Maintain calm under pressure to support a productive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Good basic education to GCSE level 4/C+ (to include English and Maths).
  • Aware of health and safety regulations relating to practical subjects in schools.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.
