Pool Hayes Academy are looking to appoint a committed and experienced Deputy SENDCO to supplement and enhance a strong established and supportive Faculty. The department is part of a well led, dynamic team, whose colleagues all enjoy supporting the Academy and its culture of outstanding success amongst our students. The appointed candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues and will be supported by our teaching and learning team. This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career in education!

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional educator with evidence of CPD training courses and have the vision, tenacity, optimism, strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to inspire students to achieve their very best in a progressive, dynamic and improving Academy, creating a culture of outstanding success amongst our students.

As a key leader, you will support the SENDCO to oversee the implementation of the academy's SEND strategy and policy, lead staff in supporting students with additional needs and oversee internal interventions for students with additional needs and deputise when and where appropriate. We are keen to secure a high calibre leader who can make a telling contribution to our forward-looking team. This position will also include a teaching responsibility. Within this role you will be the class teacher based within our new SRP provision, initially with 8 students, increasing to 16 students in year 2 with primary needs in communication, interaction and ASD.

Responsibilities

  • Support the SENDCO to oversee the implementation of the academy's SEND strategy and policy.
  • Lead staff in supporting students with additional needs.
  • Oversee internal interventions for students with additional needs.
  • Deputise when and where appropriate.
  • Act as class teacher within the SRP provision, initially with 8 students, increasing to 16 students in year 2.

Salary and Contract

Salary – MPS 1 – M6 plus TLR 2, £8,611
Permanent Full Time Contract
Commencing: September 2026
