Pony is a London-based branding agency that specialises in building impactful brand identities and digital experiences for tech companies worldwide. We work with startups and scale-ups to create brands that don't just look great – they drive growth, attract investment, and stand out in competitive markets. Our reputation is built on creative excellence, sharp execution, and a deep understanding of the tech landscape. Over the past few years, we've partnered with 150+ companies, integrating seamlessly with their teams to deliver design that makes a difference.
We're looking for a talented Senior Motion Designer to join our studio on a full-time basis. This is a senior role for someone who makes brands come alive - across brand reels, product UI, websites, pitch decks, social content, and everything in between. You'll be part of a small, senior team where everyone leads their discipline, owns projects end-to-end, and sets the bar for their craft. The role is based in London, and the successful candidate will be expected to work from our studio in Design District three days a week.
What matters most:
- Proven track record of leading motion design on brand and product projects from concept to final delivery, with a portfolio that shows both craft and range.
- Deep craft in motion principles — timing, easing, choreography, narrative pacing, sound design sensibility — not just tool proficiency.
- Expert skills in After Effects, with fluency across the wider motion stack (Cinema 4D or Blender, Rive, Lottie, Figma prototyping, and AI video tools like Runway, Sora, Kling, Luma).
- Strong brand sensibility. You understand how motion expresses brand personality, and ideally you can contribute to broader brand and concept thinking — not just motion execution.
- Comfort with UI motion — designing microinteractions, transitions, and product animations that feel native to the product, not bolted on.
- A hacker's mindset. You figure things out on your own. You prototype, you break things, you find workarounds, you ship. You don't wait to be told what to do next.
- Exceptional speed and productivity. You ship high-quality work fast, and you're constantly optimising your process to ship faster without losing craft.
- A genuine obsession with AI in motion workflows. We expect you to be actively pushing the edge of what AI can do — rebuilding your process around it, not bolting it on.
- Excellent verbal and written communication. You can jump on a client call, present a concept, defend a decision, and take feedback without ego.
- Ability to work closely with clients, brand designers, and developers, ensuring motion is cohesive across every touchpoint.
This role is right for you if:
- You're not ok with motion that's "ok".
- You care about the frame-by-frame detail most people skip, and you want your next piece of work to be your best.
- You play constantly. You're always experimenting, always hacking systems, always trying something new just to see what happens.
- Your curiosity is the engine.
- You're multidisciplinary at heart. Motion is your core, but you think in brand, product, and story.
- You want to contribute to concepts, not just execute other people's ideas.
- You're a team player. Every project at Pony is a result of team collaboration.
This role might not suit you if:
- You struggle to work on a concept that was not proposed by you.
- You're excited about AI and emerging technologies, always looking for ways to experiment, adopt new tools, and challenge traditional design processes.
- We love people who push boundaries and rethink how things are done.
What we offer:
- 25 days off + public holidays.
- A day off on your birthday.
- Flexible working schedule with hybrid options.
- A working environment designed for growth and opportunity.
- The opportunity to work on world-class, innovative projects with a team of super-talented people.
