Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Integration Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale enterprise data transformation programme. Working alongside the Project Manager, business stakeholders and the wider delivery team, you will lead the discovery, integration and transformation of data from multiple fragmented enterprise systems into a scalable, trusted enterprise data model. This role combines technical leadership with strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills. The successful candidate will work closely with business units to understand how disparate data sources relate to one another, identify integration opportunities, and design practical, scalable data solutions as requirements emerge. This is a hands-on delivery role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex integration challenges, working through ambiguity and bridging the gap between business and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand business processes, source systems and data relationships.
- Lead the discovery phase by analysing multiple fragmented data sources and identifying how they can be integrated into a scalable enterprise data model.
- Translate business requirements into technical data integration and transformation solutions.
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines across multiple enterprise systems.
- Develop ETL/ELT processes and reusable transformation logic.
- Design and implement enterprise data models that support reporting, analytics and future system onboarding.
- Integrate data into Snowflake or an equivalent cloud data platform.
- Design and implement data quality, validation and monitoring frameworks.
- Develop APIs and system integrations where appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to automate business processes across enterprise applications.
- Produce high-quality technical specifications, solution designs and implementation documentation.
- Support technical decision-making throughout discovery, design and delivery.
- Promote engineering best practice, scalable solution design and knowledge sharing across the wider team.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data integration and transformation programmes.
- Strong experience working with multiple large-scale, fragmented data sources and designing scalable enterprise data models.
- Ability to combine business analysis, technical discovery and hands-on data engineering.
- Experience facilitating workshops and engaging directly with business stakeholders to gather and validate requirements.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture and data modelling principles.
- Advanced SQL.
- Strong Python development experience.
- ETL/ELT development.
- Experience with Snowflake or an equivalent cloud data platform.
- Experience using Azure Data Factory, Precog or similar integration technologies.
- API development and systems integration.
- Git and DevOps practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- SAP and/or SAP Ariba.
- Procurement, Supply Chain or Asset Management data domains.
