Our client is seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join their dynamic Data & Insights team as a Lead Data Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of data engineering, working with cutting‑edge technologies in a vibrant and supportive environment.
Position Details
- Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
- Contract Length: 6 months
- Working Pattern: Full Time
- Number of Positions Available: 01
- Location: Warwick with onsite meetings fortnightly every month
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a modern Azure and Databricks Data platform, adhering to best practices.
- Lead data engineering efforts across all layers of the data platform, navigating both legacy Synapse and strategic Databricks environments.
- Oversee related DevOps activities, including branch supervision and merging.
- Act as a Databricks DBA, ensuring optimal database performance.
- Promote data pipelines and associated notebooks through development, test, and production environments.
- Ensure correct configuration and comprehensive documentation of Databricks.
- Enhance existing monitoring and control frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership and coaching to a small group of Data Engineers.
What You Bring
- Extensive hands‑on experience with Databricks and Synapse.
- Strong proficiency in Azure DevOps.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and PySpark within a Databricks environment.
- Experience using Databricks in a federated cloud setting.
- Proven leadership experience with small engineering teams.
- Skills in configuration management and documentation.
- Certification as a Data Bricks Professional Engineer is a plus.
