Rate: £700 inside umbrella
Overview: Are you a chartered engineer with a passion for driving engineering excellence in the world of Operational Technology? If so, we want you to join our dynamic team as a Technical Support Manager! In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in supporting Security projects at operational gas sites, ensuring seamless project delivery and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
What You'll Do:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and analysts to deliver high-quality support across various engineering disciplines, including electrical, instrumentation, cyber, and networking.
- Report directly to the Senior Leadership team on engineering risks and issues related to the OT cyber programme.
- Serve as the single technical point of contact for all technical issues, ensuring clear communication and resolution.
- Participate in working groups to refine policies, procedures, and specifications, while driving cost reductions and continuous improvement.
- Manage escalated Technical Queries and Deviations, ensuring compliance with Principal Designer obligations.
- Provide expert guidance during contract works, tendering, and award activities.
- Facilitate Designer & Design Coordinator forums to promote consistent application of engineering processes.
- Support the development of Works Information packs in collaboration with Asset and Project Delivery teams.
- Ensure 'Safety by Design' and CDM considerations are integral to all project stages.
Who You Are:
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Instrumentation, Engineering, or Cyber) and are a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council.
- A thorough understanding of Operational Technology, including experience with gas transmission systems.
- Strong engineering knowledge related to electrical, instrumentation, and cyber engineering, along with familiarity with relevant regulations and best practices.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- A commitment to personal and process safety, with the ability to build sustainable relationships with key stakeholders.
- Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written.
