Contract Details: Fixed Term Contract, 12 months, Full Time

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure 24/7 proactive system health monitoring across critical applications and infrastructure.
  • Provide Level 1-5 operational support to maintain performance and meet SLAs.
  • Collaborate with second- and third-line engineers, incident managers, and strategic suppliers.
  • Uphold security, regulatory, and operational standards.
  • Ensure the safe operation of essential national control-room systems.

About the Role:

Join a dynamic team safeguarding the health and stability of a major Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) system vital for operations. As a System Operations Analyst, you'll be the first point of escalation during any system failures. Your calm demeanor, strong judgment, and clear communication will be key in high-pressure situations. Extensive training will equip you to operate independently in a control-room environment, where accuracy and situational awareness are paramount.

Training & Onboarding:

Kickstart your career with a structured 9 month training program in Warwick, featuring:

  • Hands-on learning from day one.
  • Daily, overnight, and weekend handover procedures.
  • Exposure to complex national systems and operational processes.

After training, the role shifts to Wokingham with a rotating shift pattern of 07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00.

Technical Requirements:

  • A broad technical grounding is essential:
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, Linux-based systems, and Windows environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies and Wintel/Unix environments.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity principles.
  • Cloud experience is a plus but not mandatory; exposure will be gained as the organization transitions to new technologies.
