Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior SQL Database Developer to enhance our data management capabilities and support our ambitious projects. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive experience in SQL development and database management to design, implement, and optimise robust data solutions. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures to support data processing and reporting needs.
- Lead the design and implementation of ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to ensure seamless data flow.
- Create and manage reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Utilise C# for developing data-driven applications, ensuring performance and scalability.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, providing expert guidance on database-related challenges.
- Mentor and lead junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Monitor database performance, identify issues, and implement optimisations to enhance efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in database management and investment banking.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a SQL Database Developer, preferably within the investment banking or financial services sector.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and C#.
- Hands-on experience with Azure data services is a plus.
- Solid understanding of capital markets and related data requirements.
- Excellent leadership and mentorship skills, with a proven track record of guiding teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
