Job Title: Project Delivery Communication Lead Duration: 6 months, extensions likely Location: Warwick or London/Hybrid (twice per week requirement in the office) Salary: circa £550 per day via Umbrella Pontoon is an employment consultancy. Our client, a leading company in the utilities industry, is seeking a dynamic and skilled Project Delivery Communication Lead to join their team on a 6-month contract basis with scope to extend. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting their Carbon Capture and Hydrogen projects by developing and implementing effective communication strategies. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and implement the project delivery communications strategy, including messaging, digital and media planning, and stakeholder engagement. * Lead all external communications for the project, ensuring clear and positive messaging through media relations, social media, and public affairs. * Collaborate with programme communications leads to ensure a cohesive approach to messaging and project activities. * Oversee the production of high-quality content, from press releases to digital campaigns. * Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including media, industry partners, and government agencies. * Provide strategic advice on communications and reputation management to the executive team. * Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications activities, continuously improving the approach. * Lead the appointment and management of agencies to support consultation events and communications. * Collaborate with the project team, including leaders in engineering, consents, lands, procurement, and legal. Requirements: * Proven experience in a senior communications role, preferably in the energy, infrastructure, or regulated industries. * Strong understanding of corporate communications, public affairs, and media relations. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging narratives. * Strategic thinker with the ability to manage both day-to-day tasks and long-term planning. * Confident in managing relationships with senior stakeholders and providing trusted advice. * Ability to work under pressure and handle crisis communications. * Passion for the energy sector and commitment to sustainability. * Strong project management skills, including time, scope, and procurement management. * Experience in managing complex programmes and budgets. * Ability to identify and manage risks and communicate complex matters. * Excellent presentation skills, including experience presenting to large external audiences. * Collaborative approach and ability to represent the communications discipline at senior levels. * Appreciation or understanding of regulated business funding mechanisms. * Valid driving licence for UK travel.
