Duration: 6 months initially
The role:
You will support the Quantity Surveyors and the Lead Quantity Surveyors with the contract placement and contract management activities related to packages/sub-projects.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the contractor payment application process and assisting with cost audits.
- Assisting in reviewing contractor entitlements and assessing the time and cost impact of compensation events.
- Helping your project team develop and maintain cost forecasts.
- With the support of more senior colleagues, taking sole responsibility for smaller contracts that form part of a larger project feeding into a single programme of works.
- Supporting the project team with remaining in compliance with the relevant contractual timescales and with National Grid governance processes.
- Participating in contract risk reviews.
- Building strong relationships and facilitating good communication between a wide range of stakeholders, including Project Managers, Planners, Senior Quantity Surveyors, and Contractor personnel.
- Proactively asking for support. As soon as you identify a potential issue, ask for help before the issue escalates.
Requirements:
- Experience working on NEC contracts.
- Contract administration including: Applications for payment, Managing early warnings, Understanding contract obligations.
- Experience working with project managers and stakeholders.
- Ideally experience within Construction or Utilities.
