Rate: £220.00 per day (PAYE)

About the Role

SMBC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collateral Associate to join our Operations team on a contract basis. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of margin calls, portfolio reconciliations, and compliance with EMIR and MiFIR regulations. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the bank\\\'s regulatory and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Process daily CSA and GMRA margin calls and interest calculations.
  • Administer EMIR portfolio reconciliations, including dispute resolution and escalation.
  • Liaise with Treasury to ensure funding and timely collateral delivery.
  • Monitor Nostro accounts and resolve reconciliation breaks.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system upgrades and process improvements.
  • Maintain and enhance desktop procedures and operational workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to deliver high-quality service.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in collateral management or regulatory operations within banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of CSA, GMRA, and ISDA documentation.
  • Hands-on knowledge of EMIR and MiFIR regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented.

Working Pattern

Hybrid: 2-3 days onsite in London, remainder remote.
