Job Description
Job Title: Estimator – Infrastructure Projects\\n Location: Remote-based role with occasional site visits across North Wales, Northeast, Northwest, and East Anglia (Travel Expenses are covered going to sites)\\n\\nContract Length: Initial 6 months (Possible extensions)\\n\\nPay Rate: £450/day (Inside IR35 via umbrella)\\n\\nOverview\\n\\nA leading infrastructure delivery organisation is seeking an Estimator to support a major programme of work focused on accelerating the UK's transition to net zero. This role will sit within project teams and be responsible for producing benchmark cost estimates for large-scale infrastructure projects up to the start of construction. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to nationally significant energy and infrastructure schemes, working in a collaborative and commercially focused environment.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\nUtilise Candy estimating software to create accurate project cost projections\\nProduce cost estimates for overhead transmission lines, underground high-voltage cables, and new build substations\\nCollaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates\\nBenchmark bids and support procurement and commercial strategy\\nRecord basis of estimates and contribute to bid approval documentation\\nParticipate in drawing reviews and estimation exercises during interviews and project planning\\nAdapt to varying project sizes and complexities, from smaller schemes to multi-million-pound programmes\\nCommunicate effectively with vendors and departments to ensure project requirements are met \\n\\nSkills & Experience\\n\\nExperience estimating major infrastructure projects (civil or M&E)\\nFamiliarity with Candy estimating software\\nExposure to regulated sectors such as Energy, Defence, Aerospace, or Commercial Construction\\nUnderstanding of construction techniques and their impact on cost and budgeting\\nStrong numeracy and commercial acumen, with an awareness of how decisions affect overall project costs\\nOrganised and results-oriented, with a proactive and collaborative working style\\nWillingness to learn and adapt, with clear communication across all levels\\nA mindset focused on continuous improvement and efficiency \\n\\nPlease note: Due to the high volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted.
