One of our large Financial clients is currently looking for a candidate with an IT Technical background/ Computer Forensics.
The candidate provides support to the eDiscovery Operations Legal Team on all tasks related to data identification, collection, and transfer. The primary focus of this role is for the collection of electronic data using specified eDiscovery and computer forensics evidence handling techniques and industry-specific processing applications and tools. This individual is responsible for ensuring the quality of the processed data through various stages of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) project workflow and final loading.
The candidate will be joining a team spanning the UK, Asia, and North America. The UK candidate will work most closely with three other UK team members and a fourth member based in Hong Kong. However, the candidate will also collaborate with the larger US team (comprising another 25 members) to fulfil eDiscovery requests across the globe. Collaboration is key, and the candidate will be trained by veteran team members to perform in a production environment supporting client needs. In this role, the candidate will be exposed to numerous eDiscovery tools, processes, and the latest technology.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Work closely with other eDiscovery team members to ensure prompt and accurate execution of requests to identify, collect, and transfer data requested in litigation and regulatory matters.
- Manage a portfolio of cases where you are responsible to ensure the requested data collections are performed and completed through delivery.
- Perform complex custodial research to ensure all required data sources are identified and collected per case requirements.
- Perform collection tasks related to critical enterprise data sources including Microsoft365 Exchange, SharePoint, and other relevant sources.
- Input queries to perform collections and share responsibility for completing or requesting necessary quality control (QC) checks.
- Complete internal collections through the barcoding process to ensure data preservation.
- Troubleshoot collection failures, stalled collections, and errors.
- Complete internal data transfers, perform quality checks, and ensure data is prepared for delivery.
- Meet daily/weekly productivity targets.
- Support functions related to data delivery as needed.
Job Requirements/Core Skills:
- Experience working in an electronic discovery or IT related field.
- Effective time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong client-service orientation.
- Ability to excel in a metric driven, production environment.
- Strong PC skills including experience with Microsoft Office products like Word and Excel for reporting.
Desired skills:
- Prior experience working with Microsoft 365 suite of tools, including Microsoft Purview.
- Prior experience performing data acquisitions or knowledge of Cyber Forensics tools/processes.
- Prior experience working within the Legal, Regulatory, or Compliance space.
- Prior experience with Ex-Merge, EnCase, SQL, Robocopy and/or the ability to learn new software tools quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, managing priorities within shifting deadlines and dynamic customer requirements.
- Knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
Other example skills:
- Familiarity with computer operating systems, networking and the ability to recognize and diagnose issues.
- Ability to perform detailed troubleshooting during a complex, multi-step process.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, while taking responsibility for a task and following it through to completion.
- Ability to work across departments to coordinate requirements and reach resolution.
