Metrology Analysis Engineer
Crew – onsite
Contract to June 2026
MAIN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
- Delivery of automotive engineering analysis to provide constants quality improvements to the range of product line within vehicle portfolio
- Delivery of Meisterbock / Cubing & whole vehicle / part dimensional analysis activities to meet the requirements set out within the Metrology Process Description and achieve the key relevant Production Emergence Plan milestones
- Responsible for all activities of a designated area of the property, vehicle or parts including but not limited to, building & measurement of components, interrogation & analysis of results, defining the root cause analysis of problems & communicating conclusions.
RESPONSIBILITY/TASKS AND CUSTOMERS
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Maximum of 5 relating to products, services etc.)
Delivery of projects
- Responsible for planning and managing project related activities on a weekly basis
- Responsible for reporting of status of activities in Project Team
- Activity seeks out cross functional working to deliver project requirements across the business
- Active participation in working with suppliers (internal & external) to maturate the quality status of parts and systems and with the ability to advise on measurement and checking fixture strategy
- Dimensional measurement of Part, property or vehicle
- Advanced understanding of measurement first principles
- Advanced understanding of fixture/vehicle build with the ability to build all areas of the property unassisted from first principles / applying the RPS principles.
- Advanced ability to select and use suitable measurement equipment to measure assess and create measurement reports for parts & sub systems using a variety of measurement systems
- Advanced ability to interrogate fitment process during building of system, property or vehicle with in-depth understand of reasons for deviation
- Support Engineering release and change management process
- Analysis of problems
- Analysis and management of multiple complex dimensional / functional related issues
- Ability to provide root cause of complex dimensional / functional problems
- Collect, manage and analyse data to produce reports and conduct presentations at appropriate level.
- Developing & maintaining Specialist Knowledge
- Actively up to date with own technology area
- Understand and maintain liaison with VW Group & measurement solution partners to keep up to date with the latest technological developments.
