Our client, a prominent player in the financial services industry, is on the lookout for a talented Desktop Engineer to join their innovative Virtual Workplace team. This is a fixed-term contract for 6 months, offering you the chance to make a significant impact while being conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from Clifton Down train station.

About the Role: As a Desktop Engineer, you will be at the forefront of providing specialist virtual desktop technical capabilities. Your contributions will directly support the expansion and enhancement of the organisation’s Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, ensuring a seamless experience for over 30,000 users globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with tech specialists to design and maintain the Virtual Desktop roadmap.
• Develop and optimise virtual desktop and application hosting offerings.
• Create compelling business cases for desktop platform usage tailored to local and global customers.
• Ensure all project proposals align with the global strategy, focusing on end-user optimisation.
• Provide third-line support, sharing your expertise to enhance team capabilities.
• Stay updated on internal strategies and vendor technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Proven experience in a project environment, showcasing your technical leadership and performance enhancement skills.
• A strategic understanding of various Virtual Desktop technologies, especially Citrix Xen Desktop, Windows Server, and Azure.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• Ability to lead IT solutions development within the Virtual Workplace.
• Experience with managing key technology vendors to ensure adequate support and service provision.

Technical Skills Required:

• Deep knowledge of Citrix products, including Storefront and Netscaler.
• Proficiency in SCCM, Intune, and endpoint management.
• Familiarity with Powershell scripting in a Citrix environment.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
