We are currently seeking candidates for 2 year fixed term positions at Hinkley Point C location. We would be looking to deploy in January and March 2026.
This role will be responsible for supervising and coordinating welding activities, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of work in line with nuclear safety culture and project requirements.
- Supervise and allocate welding tasks to team members to ensure delivery to specification, safety, and quality standards.
- Champion safety, quality, and productivity within the welding team, promoting a positive safety culture.
- Deliver pre- and post-job briefings, ensuring clarity of instructions and effective feedback.
- Monitor and inspect welding activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical or operational issues, escalating where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all welding activities.
- Support the development and training of team members to enhance capability and performance.
- Liaise with other supervisors, inspectors, and project teams to coordinate activities and resolve interface issues.
- Contribute to the achievement of project milestones and schedules through effective planning and supervision.
Qualifications and Work Experience
- Level 3 Pipe Welder Apprenticeship Standard or equivalent apprenticeship in a welding discipline.
- Diploma in Welding Engineering Construction Pipework/Plate or equivalent.
- CSWIP Certificate or IWE Certificate, or Level 2 Certificates in Ultrasonic Testing, Penetrant Testing, and Radiographic Testing.
- CCNSG Safety Passport.
- LATS, SSSTS, IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent site safety training).
- Completion of ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE (within 6 months of start date) or Nuclear Engineering Construction Supervisor (NECS) within 4 weeks of start date (or evidence of booking).
- Demonstrable experience supervising welding operations to technical specifications in a regulated or high-risk environment.
- Experience leading teams to deliver safety, quality, and productivity requirements on site.
