The Municipality of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes is looking to hire a professional in the field of Engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support and direction for the realization of all infrastructure projects including the identification of the current state and future needs in municipal water/sewer, roads, bridges/culverts, drainage, buildings, as well as the work required in recreational parks;
- Analyze needs, develop and write work plans and project timelines;
- Draft tender documents, according to the standards in force in the municipal field, by ensuring the preparation of technical plans and specifications and the preparation of the cost estimates;
- Assist with the analysis of the tenders as well as the supervision of the works, as needed;
- Coordinate and supervise all the activities leading to the delivery of the work within the deadlines that will be set and with the budgets established;
- Collaborate with staff throughout all departments of the Municipality, particularly in Public Works and Urbanism;
- Perform, as requested, any other tasks or projects requiring expertise or professional support in civil engineering.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a university degree in civil engineering and be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
- Candidates who are licensed in other jurisdictions or who have extensive experience and are willing to become OIQ recognized and licensed, are also encouraged to apply;
- Good knowledge of computer software necessary to perform his work (Excel, Word and Autocad);
- Shows initiative, is independent, responsible and reliable; and is also able to collaborate and work in a team;
- Excellent command of French and English languages, verbal and written;
- Have a valid driver’s license.
This position is full-time, 35 hours per week, beginning ASAP. Remuneration and other working conditions will be set based on experience and the current salary policies in effect. Other benefits offered include a pension plan and a group insurance plan.
