About the role
If you are passionate about inclusive education and committed to unlocking the potential of every learner, Carleton High School is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Deputy SENDCO to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. In this pivotal role, you will take the lead in planning, coordinating and delivering high-quality 1:1 and small‑group intervention sessions. You will drive improvements in both educational and life outcomes for our SEND pupils, ensuring they receive the personalised support they need to thrive. Your expertise will also help shape innovative and effective best practice across the school\’s SEND provision. We pride ourselves on delivering a first‑class education to every student so they can make outstanding progress and access the opportunities they deserve.
Responsibilities
- Take the lead in planning, coordinating and delivering high-quality 1:1 and small‑group intervention sessions.
- Drive improvements in both educational and life outcomes for SEND pupils, ensuring they receive personalised support.
- Shape innovative and effective best practice across the school\’s SEND provision.
- Collaborate with staff, parents and carers to support learners.
Qualifications
- Passionate about supporting pupils to reach their full potential.
- Communicates with warmth, clarity and professionalism when working with staff, students, parents and carers.
- Thrives as part of a collaborative team, yet is confident in working independently and using own initiative.
- Has valuable experience in a specialist SEND role or a similar area.
