Ponderosa Zoo is a small collection located in West Yorkshire. We have a very exciting opportunity to join our team as Deputy Zoo Manager. We have 100 animals on-site and have a range of both mammals and reptiles.
The position will work across all of our sections which are carnivores, herbivores, reptiles and the lemur walkthrough as well as completing managerial tasks.
We are looking for a candidate who has a keen interest in conservation and education as this will take up the majority of the role. Experience with social media and website editing would be beneficial but not mandatory.
The successful candidate will be expected to work 5 days out of 7 which includes weekends and bank holidays. Working hours vary during the year between summer and winter. Holiday entitlement is 28 days a year.
A successful candidate will have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in an animal related subject and at least 2 years’ of paid experience in a zoological collection.
