Pond Meadow Academy is a specialist provision supporting children and young people aged 3–19 with a range of complex learning needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties and communication and interaction needs.

As our provision continues to grow, we are excited to be opening Pond Meadow Cobham. This development provides an opportunity to expand our specialist offer, creating additional places for pupils while continuing to deliver the high-quality education, care and support that sits at the heart of Pond Meadow.

Pond Meadow Cobham will operate as an extension of Pond Meadow Academy Trust Guildford, supported by our established leadership, teaching and business teams.

Required: Lead Teaching Assistant – Pond Meadow Cobham Satellite Provision

Term Time Only – 32.5 hours per week

Salary: PS6 £30,647 per annum

Actual salary: £23,803.52 per annum (approx. £1,983 gross per month)

Pond Meadow Academy Trust is seeking a motivated, compassionate and skilled Lead Teaching Assistant to join our team as part of the opening and development of our new Pond Meadow Cobham satellite provision.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new chapter for Pond Meadow, supporting the establishment of a specialist provision from the beginning while being part of an experienced and supportive academy team.

About the role:

  • As a Lead Teaching Assistant at Pond Meadow Cobham, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning, working closely with the class teacher, Assistant Head and wider Pond Meadow team.
  • You will support the development of classroom routines, model excellent practice and promote independence, communication, engagement and positive outcomes for our pupils.
  • The role will involve supporting pupils with a range of complex learning needs, including autism, communication and interaction needs and severe learning difficulties.
  • You will help create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where pupils are supported to achieve their potential.
  • As part of a developing satellite provision, you will have the opportunity to contribute to establishing effective classroom approaches, building positive relationships with pupils and families and helping to shape the culture of Pond Meadow Cobham.

Experience in SEND or autism is beneficial but not essential — full training, coaching and professional development will be provided.
