Ponatahi Christian School is a coeducational, state-integrated area school (Years 1-13) with around 140 students, set in a beautiful semi-rural location on the edge of Carterton in the Wairarapa. Our mission is to "Enable young people to serve God and society." We seek to live this out by teaching students according to God's Word while nurturing them in every respect.
We are seeking a passionate, innovative, and dedicated teacher to teach in our Years 7-8 class. You will teach the New Zealand Curriculum in line with our Special Character, foster wellbeing, and set high expectations for every learner. The ability to teach Te Reo Māori would be a valuable advantage.

This is a permanent 0.8 position, starting at the beginning of the 2027 school year.
As this is a tagged position, a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school, and to actively support and uphold the school's Special Character and Statement of Faith, are conditions of appointment.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, are set by the New Zealand Area Schools' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers depends on qualifications and experience.
