Enthusiastic Room Leader | Permanent Role | Outdoor Focused Nursery
Pomfret Woodland Community Nursery is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Room Leader to join our dedicated team on a permanent basis. This is a chance to join our Senior Team and contribute to a not-for-profit, community-led nursery with a strong child-centred ethos and commitment to outdoor learning.
About the Opportunity:
As a Room Leader, you will be a key leader in the nursery, responsible for a specific age group (0-5 years). This role offers the opportunity to be part of the Senior Team, helping to shape the daily life and future direction of the nursery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Practitioner: Act as the Key Person for a designated group of children, overseeing their care and development.
- Curriculum Design: Plan and implement activities that are rich, sharp, and focused, demonstrating a commitment to scaffolding learning.
- EYFS Expertise: Demonstrate an excellent understanding and practical application of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Leadership: Use strong leadership skills to support your room team and have a positive impact on practice across the nursery.
- Nursery Operations: As part of the Senior Team, you will occasionally be required to open and close the nursery and contribute to effective strategic planning.
What We Are Looking For (Essential Criteria):
- Qualification: Qualified to Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare.
- Experience: Proven experience working within a nursery provision.
- Core Skills: Must have obtained a Level 2 English qualification.
- Mindset: Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to high-quality care and education.
