As the Tooling and Steel Inventory Coordinator - Deep Foundations within Pomerleau’s Civil & Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring the availability of all specialized equipment and steel inventory required for deep foundation operations, including driven piles, drilled shafts, sheet piles, and combi walls.

Working closely with the maintenance team, you will help coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, performance, and safety.

In supporting field operations, you will play a key role in maximizing the efficiency, traceability, and availability of critical resources.

You will also oversee a small team, coordinating daily activities, allocating work, and monitoring performance.

Contributing to major construction projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion, you will have a direct impact on operational excellence and project success.

What you will do

  • Manage steel and specialized tooling inventories while maintaining accurate and up-to-date availability records.
  • Organize the yard and ensure all materials and equipment shipped to project sites are compliant and ready for use.
  • Prioritize requests based on operational needs and project urgency.
  • Coordinate equipment inspections, maintenance, and repairs in collaboration with the maintenance team.
  • Supervise, train, and support a small team responsible for tooling and material management.
  • Oversee the loading of materials and equipment and perform loading activities when required.
  • Anticipate logistical constraints and work closely with Logistics Coordinators to ensure efficient operations.
  • Support project mobilization and demobilization activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe and organized yard.
  • Collaborate closely with site teams, engineering, logistics, procurement, estimating, and the mechanical shop to support project success.
  • This role could be for you if you have
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in deep foundations.
  • A valid telehandler operator certification.
  • Strong knowledge of steel products, including piles, sheet piles, and structural tubes.
  • Experience managing deep foundation equipment, such as drilling tools, hammers, and vibratory drivers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and other common computer applications.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
