Foot Mobile Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Engineer Location: Central London Working Hours: 8am-4:30pm Polyteck Building Services are seeking a highly skilled Foot Mobile Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Engineer to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across multiple client sites in Central London. This is a critical role ensuring life safety systems remain compliant, reliable, and operational at all times. Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), testing, and servicing of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems. * Undertake fault-finding, remedial works, and small installations in line with industry regulations (BS5839 & BS5266). * Provide commissioning support, including fire alarm software programming where required. * Respond promptly to reactive callouts, delivering first-time fixes wherever possible. * Complete compliance documentation, logbooks, and certification following works. * Liaise professionally with clients, tenants, and colleagues to ensure excellent service delivery. * Ensure compliance with all health & safety procedures and risk assessments. Essential Qualifications & Experience * Proven experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems across commercial or residential sites. * Strong working knowledge of emergency lighting systems and statutory testing requirements. * On-site fire alarm experience (1st and 2nd fix works). * Up-to-date knowledge of fire alarm industry standards (BS5839) and emergency lighting standards (BS5266). * Demonstrable experience in fault-finding, diagnostics, and remedial works. * Ability to work independently across multiple London sites with excellent time management. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer focus. Desirable * Fire alarm software programming and commissioning experience. * Industry-recognised training in fire alarm systems. * Asbestos Awareness, IPAF, or PASMA certification.
