Polyteck Building Services is seeking a reliable and technically skilled Electrician to support installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems across client sites. This role ensures works are completed safely, efficiently, and to high technical standards, maintaining smooth project delivery and strong client relationships.
Principal Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective running of assigned works, including:
- Allocating sufficient labour, time, and resources to complete tasks.
- Coordinating equipment and materials with the Electrical Operations Manager and Purchasing team.
- Following a systematic and logical sequence of works to ensure smooth delivery.
- Attending callouts and completing works efficiently and within required timeframes.
- Completing job sheets accurately, including call-out details, time spent, and materials used.
- Keeping all on-site logbooks and records up to date.
Personal Conduct
- Present a professional image at all times and act as an ambassador for the company.
- Demonstrate flexibility with working hours when business needs require it.
- Take shared responsibility for the success of the business through positive decision-making and accountability.
- Uphold and promote equal opportunities and fair treatment in the workplace.
Team Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness of basic employment law and Health & Safety legislation.
- Support apprentices through guidance, instruction, and development:
- Identify skill or training needs.
- Communicate expectations clearly and constructively.

- Professional Presentation: Positive representation of the business through appearance, communication, and behaviour.
- Customer Satisfaction: Measured by repeat work, feedback, and workmanship quality.

- Waste Reduction: Minimise repeat visits, call-out inefficiencies, and material wastage.
Required Skills & Experience
- 18th Edition Electrical Qualification (Essential)
- City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) – Inspection & Testing (Preferred)
- Proven on-site experience in 1st and 2nd fix electrical work
- Experience in inspection, testing, and commissioning
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Financial awareness and cost-conscious approach
