We are seeking an experienced Commercial Pump Specialist (Mobile Engineer) to service, maintain, troubleshoot and commission pumping systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and municipal sites. This is a senior, field-based role for a hands-on mechanical expert with strong diagnostic ability.
The Role
- Service, repair and rebuild commercial pump systems (end suction, inline, split-case, vertical multistage, boosters, sump pumps).
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in pumps, motors, seals, bearings, couplings & VFD systems.
- Carry out vibration analysis, performance testing & system optimisation.
- Complete seal replacements, impeller adjustments, motor alignments & pump overhauls.
- Support commissioning and start-ups.
- Read and interpret technical drawings/schematics.
- Produce accurate service reports and parts lists.
- Provide clear customer communication and recommendations.
- Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment & company vehicle.
- Participate in on-call rota as required.
What You’ll Need
- 3–5+ years’ experience with commercial or industrial pumps.
- Strong understanding of pump curves, hydronic systems & mechanical seals.
- Experience with VFD-controlled pumping systems.
- Ability to fault-find both mechanically and electrically.
- Confident working independently across multiple sites.
- Full UK driving licence.
Preferred
- Mechanical engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
- BMS/HVAC experience.
- Manufacturer training or certifications.
- Safety training (OSHA/CSCS or equivalent).
