We are seeking an experienced Commercial Pump Specialist (Mobile Engineer) to service, maintain, troubleshoot and commission pumping systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and municipal sites. This is a senior, field-based role for a hands-on mechanical expert with strong diagnostic ability.

The Role

  • Service, repair and rebuild commercial pump systems (end suction, inline, split-case, vertical multistage, boosters, sump pumps).
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in pumps, motors, seals, bearings, couplings & VFD systems.
  • Carry out vibration analysis, performance testing & system optimisation.
  • Complete seal replacements, impeller adjustments, motor alignments & pump overhauls.
  • Support commissioning and start-ups.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings/schematics.
  • Produce accurate service reports and parts lists.
  • Provide clear customer communication and recommendations.
  • Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment & company vehicle.
  • Participate in on-call rota as required.

What You’ll Need

  • 3–5+ years’ experience with commercial or industrial pumps.
  • Strong understanding of pump curves, hydronic systems & mechanical seals.
  • Experience with VFD-controlled pumping systems.
  • Ability to fault-find both mechanically and electrically.
  • Confident working independently across multiple sites.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Preferred

  • Mechanical engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
  • BMS/HVAC experience.
  • Manufacturer training or certifications.
  • Safety training (OSHA/CSCS or equivalent).
