We are seeking an experienced CNC Maintenance Engineer to join our client's facilities and maintenance team based in Ely. The successful candidate will provide first-line support for CNC machine downtime, assist with preventative maintenance activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the machining operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to CNC machine breakdowns and downtime issues
  • Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities
  • Liaise with external service engineers and equipment manufacturers
  • Ensure CNC equipment operates efficiently and reliably
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including TPM, Kaizen, and 5S
  • Assist with procurement and installation of new CNC equipment
  • Work closely with production teams to improve machining processes
  • Train and support operators on maintenance best practices

Requirements:

  • Apprenticeship-trained or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in CNC service or maintenance engineering
  • Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience on CNC multi-axis milling machines
  • Good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, vacuum systems, and PLC diagnostics
  • Electrical fault-finding experience and basic three-phase electrical work capability
  • Experience implementing TPM programmes and preventative maintenance strategies
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and software
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and solve problems effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
