Polytec are looking for a proactive IT Support Technician for our client based just north of Cambridge. The successful candidate will deliver 1st and 2nd line support to around 80 users working both on-site and remotely. This hands-on role focuses on supporting end users, maintaining IT systems and devices, and assisting with day-to-day IT operations while working closely with the internal IT team.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1st/2nd line IT support for hardware, software and user issues
- Support Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Configure and manage laptops, desktops and Android devices
- Administer user accounts in a hybrid cloud environment and support Exchange Online
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding, including device provisioning and permissions
- Assist with network patching, backup management, CRM support and VoIP troubleshooting
Requirements
- 2-3 years' experience in an IT support or service desk role
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills supporting technical and non-technical users
- Relevant IT qualification or certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco) desirable
Desirable
- Experience with Linux systems
- Familiarity with Cyber Essentials security standards
- Understanding of ITIL processes
