Polytec are looking for a Production Technician for our client based just north of Cambridge.

Responsibilities

  • Electro‑mechanical assembly and testing of a variety of infrared thermal imaging related products
  • Production work ranging from cable assembly through to full system build and test, involving job and batch quantities
  • Manufacture and test of mechanical, optical and electronic assemblies
  • Component‑level fault finding, troubleshooting and debugging
  • Recording and documenting assembly and test activities
  • Working as part of a production team to support the manufacture of high‑quality products
  • Following engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail throughout the production process

Requirements

  • A formal Engineering or relevant technical qualification
  • Understanding of electronic fundamentals
  • Troubleshooting, fault finding and debugging skills
  • SMT soldering (to 0201) and PCB repair skills
  • Wiring and cable/harness assembly experience
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to read schematic designs
  • Proficient in the use of standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, DVMs and signal generators
  • Understanding of clean room techniques for opto‑mechanical assembly
