Polytec are looking for a Production Technician for our client based just north of Cambridge.
Responsibilities
- Electro‑mechanical assembly and testing of a variety of infrared thermal imaging related products
- Production work ranging from cable assembly through to full system build and test, involving job and batch quantities
- Manufacture and test of mechanical, optical and electronic assemblies
- Component‑level fault finding, troubleshooting and debugging
- Recording and documenting assembly and test activities
- Working as part of a production team to support the manufacture of high‑quality products
- Following engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions
- Maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail throughout the production process
Requirements
- A formal Engineering or relevant technical qualification
- Understanding of electronic fundamentals
- Troubleshooting, fault finding and debugging skills
- SMT soldering (to 0201) and PCB repair skills
- Wiring and cable/harness assembly experience
- Computer literate
- Ability to read schematic designs
- Proficient in the use of standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, DVMs and signal generators
- Understanding of clean room techniques for opto‑mechanical assembly
