Polytec are looking for a skilled and motivated Production Build Technician to join our client in Royston. In this hands-on role, you will help build high-value systems, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency and performance are consistently achieved. As part of the production team, you will be involved in the assembly, wiring and testing of products, while also working closely with internal departments to support continuous improvements in design, processes and manufacturing efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out hands-on mechanical assembly of products as part of the production team
- Complete wiring and product testing where required
- Follow established production processes accurately and consistently
- Work alongside Production Engineering and other departments to identify and implement process and efficiency improvements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production documentation
- Communicate effectively with Cell Leaders to help maximise production efficiency
- Contribute to achieving production targets, deadlines and quality standards as part of the wider team
- Support the implementation and maintenance of lean manufacturing practices
- Assist with batch release activities
Requirements:
- Previous experience within a technical manufacturing, production or assembly environment is essential
- Good understanding of mechanical assembly techniques
- Ability to carry out basic mechanical fault finding
- Confidence reading and interpreting basic mechanical drawings
- Strong practical mechanical build skills
- Ability to fit and route wiring harnesses
- Experience within a cell-based manufacturing, commissioning or test environment would be advantageous
