Polytec are looking for a Production Technician for our client based just north of Cambridge.
Responsibilities:
- Assembly of electromechanical components and systems according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Functional test and quality checks on assembled electromechanical devices to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards.
- Identify and resolve issues encountered during assembly and testing processes, utilising diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of assembly procedures, test results, and any deviations encountered during production.
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and other production team members to optimise manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
- Ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
- Participation in inspections, audits, and continuous improvement activities to ensure quality assurance.
- Maintenance and calibration of production equipment and tools to ensure they are functioning properly and accurately.
Requirements:
- A formal Engineering qualification or relevant experience.
- Proficiency in electromechanical assembly techniques, including soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly.
- Familiarity with basic electrical and mechanical principles is essential.
- Experience with optical assembly would be beneficial.
- Troubleshooting, fault finding and debugging skills.
- SMT soldering (to 0201) and PCB repair skills would be helpful.
- Wiring and cable/harness assembly experience.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to read schematic designs.
- Proficient in the use of standard test equipment; Oscilloscope, DVM, signal generator.
- An understanding of clean room techniques.
