Polytec are seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join our Saffron Walden based client and help strengthen its production engineering capability. This is a hands‑on role with genuine ownership, focused on improving manufacturing efficiency, supporting structured new product introduction and maintaining high standards of quality and process control.
Responsibilities
- Improving manufacturing processes, efficiency and quality
- Supporting new product introduction (NPI) into production
- Designing and implementing jigs, fixtures and tooling
- Producing CAD models and manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks preferred)
- Delivering structured continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting equipment reliability and resolving day‑to‑day production issues
Requirements
- Proven Production Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of quality systems
- CAD experience (ideally SolidWorks)
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
- Practical, hands‑on engineering capability
