About the Role
Polytec are looking for a Test and Assembly Technician for our client based just south of Cambridge. You will support the assembly and testing of high‑precision electronic products. This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. We're looking for a strong team player with a proactive and adaptable approach who is motivated and willing to learn. Due to the remote location, you will need to have your own transport.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and test electronic products to defined specifications and production schedules
- Maintain accurate production and test records
- Support validation of assembly and testing processes
- Assist in training production staff where required
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards
- Contribute to team objectives to meet customer demand
Requirements
Essential:
- Good IT skills (e.g. Excel, Word)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Desirable:
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Knowledge of PCB assembly and fault finding
- Soldering to industry standards (e.g. IPC)
- Familiarity with quality and manufacturing standards
- Experience working with traceable products
