An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Electronics Technician to join an innovative engineering environment supporting cutting-edge electronics development and testing. This hands-on role will take ownership of laboratory operations whilst supporting electronics build, commissioning and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day electronics lab operations, safety procedures and compliance activities
- Conduct risk assessments and maintain COSHH documentation/processes
- Oversee lab inventory, tooling, components and supplier sourcing
- Build, solder, test and troubleshoot PCBs and electronic assemblies
- Support equipment design, test rig development, maintenance and calibration
- Carry out fault finding, repair and commissioning of electronic systems
- Maintain workshop tools/equipment and support light mechanical rework activities
- Ensure lab organisation, ESD compliance and high housekeeping standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience in an electronics technician or lab-based engineering role
- Strong PCB assembly, soldering, testing and fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of lab safety, risk assessments, COSHH and ESD controls
- Experience maintaining test equipment, tools and workshop facilities
- Organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced technical environment
