Polytec are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join an innovative technology manufacturing business during a period of rapid growth. This is a hands-on role based near Royston, where you will take ownership of procurement operations, supply chain development, inventory management and supplier performance, helping to support the scale-up of production activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust purchasing processes covering quotations, purchase orders, goods receipt, inspection, invoice reconciliation and inventory management.
- Drive improvements in supply chain planning, transitioning towards demand-driven replenishment systems.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate commercial terms and identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure material availability to support manufacturing schedules.
- Track and report key procurement metrics, including inventory performance, costs and cashflow forecasts.
- Oversee third-party logistics activities and support efficient operational processes.
- Work closely with manufacturing, operations and finance teams to ensure procurement activities align with business objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing or a related supply chain role.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to balance strategic improvements with day-to-day operational demands.
- Good analytical and reporting skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other office software.
- Experience implementing business systems or managing improvement projects would be advantageous.
