Polytec are looking for a hands-on Lead Manufacturing Technician for our client based near Royston. You will help build, test and improve advanced electromechanical products while leading a team of technicians to deliver quality, safety and productivity targets. This is an excellent opportunity to combine technical expertise with team leadership, working closely with engineering and production teams in a fast-growing technology business.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting a team of manufacturing technicians
  • Building, testing, repairing and upgrading electromechanical equipment
  • Driving quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshooting manufacturing and product issues
  • Developing and improving assembly processes and documentation
  • Supporting technician training and skills development
  • Helping deliver production targets in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production technician role
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong electromechanical assembly and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence
