Polytec are seeking a Mechanical Verification Engineer to support the development of innovative electro-mechanical products for our client based just north of Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and carrying out verification activities, ensuring products meet performance, reliability, quality and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute mechanical verification and validation testing
- Produce test plans, procedures and technical reports
- Carry out environmental, durability, structural and lifecycle testing
- Analyse test results, identify root causes and support design improvements
- Design and build test fixtures and support prototype evaluation
- Work with external test laboratories and maintain verification equipment
Requirements
- Degree, HND, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in mechanical verification, validation or electro-mechanical testing
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes and measurement techniques
- Practical workshop skills and experience writing technical documentation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience with environmental and reliability testing, GDandT, FMEA or PLC-controlled test equipment
- Knowledge of test fixture design and regulated or high-reliability product development
