Polytec are looking for a Mechanical Engineer for a local technology company to support the transition of products from development into production. This role will focus on improving manufacturability, developing processes and supporting ongoing production operations.
Responsibilities:
- Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring designs are suitable for production and assembly
- Collaborate with design teams to deliver practical, manufacturable mechanical solutions
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures, jigs and test equipment
- Create and maintain clear assembly instructions, build procedures and production documentation
- Establish and improve manufacturing processes to ensure consistency, quality and efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve quality and shorten build times
- Provide hands-on support to resolve mechanical issues in production and testing environments
- Carry out root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues
- Support engineering change and configuration control processes
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams, including supplier interaction where required
