Polytec are seeking a detail orientated Material's Technician to join our south Cambridge based client. This is a hands-on, site-based role supporting the efficient flow of materials through the warehouse and production environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and book in incoming goods
- Pick and issue materials for production
- Maintain accurate stock records using an MRP system
- Carry out cycle counts and investigate stock discrepancies
- Ensure correct stock rotation, storage and traceability
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety
- Work closely with Production, Procurement and Quality teams
Requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach
- Competent with Microsoft Office
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or engineering environment
- Knowledge of stock control and MRP systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and use basic measuring equipment such as verniers and calipers
- Full UK driving licence
