Our Huntingdon based client is seeking an experienced Business Manager to develop, strengthen and grow commercial relationships with global customers and strategic partners across multiple international markets. Working within a commercial team, you will be responsible for managing key customer accounts while identifying new business opportunities. The role combines account management, business development and commercial programme coordination, working closely with technical and cross-functional teams to deliver successful customer outcomes. The role is approximately 75% account management and growth of existing customers, with 25% focused on winning new business.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic customer accounts
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within target markets
- Execute sales strategies to drive revenue across products, services and solutions
- Support commercial bid activity
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Develop account plans, forecasts and commercial pipelines
- Maintain accurate commercial reporting, pricing and sales data
- Prepare regular pipeline and market activity reports for senior leadership
- Represent the business at industry events and networking opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful commercial outcomes
Requirements
Essential
- Degree educated or equivalent in business, marketing or another relevant commercial discipline
- At least five years' experience in key account management, managing and growing complex business relationships
- Proven business development experience with a successful track record of winning new business
- Strong commercial awareness with experience delivering sustainable revenue growth
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively across multiple business functions
- Strong negotiation, planning and organisational skills
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building abilities
- Analytical mindset with experience managing forecasts, commercial reporting and business data
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable
- Experience within the automotive or wider engineering, manufacturing or technology sectors
- Exposure to technology, licensing, consultancy or technical services sales
- Experience managing complex bid processes and customer programmes
- Knowledge of working with large multinational organisations and long sales cycles
- Interest in emerging technologies and international markets
