Hours: 9am - 5.30pm, Monday - Friday

Salary: up to £43000 depending on experience

Polytec is seeking an Electronics Prototype Technician to join our client based near Saffron Walden. This is a hands-on role focused on RF and general PCB prototyping, surface-mount assembly, wiring and electronics fault-finding within a busy R&D environment. UK Security Clearance will be required for this role therefore applicants requiring visas will unfortunately not be eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Electronics assembly to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards
  • Hand soldering of fine-pitch SMD components (including 0603 and 0402)
  • PCB modification, rework and prototype build from schematics and drawings
  • Detailed wiring and general electronics assembly
  • Accurate recording and maintenance of build and test documentation
  • Supporting day-to-day operation of an R&D laboratory

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an electronics lab or assembly environment
  • Proven ability to work independently on complex prototype builds
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineers as part of project teams
  • Good IT skills for documentation and record-keeping
  • Mechanical assembly experience is advantageous
  • Flexible, proactive approach with a willingness to learn new skills
