We are seeking a Goods-In Inspector for our client based a few miles north of Cambridge. You will manage the receipt and inspection of incoming materials and components. The role focuses on ensuring all deliveries meet quality standards and match purchase orders before being released into stock or production.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming goods against documentation
- Check quantities, condition and compliance with specifications, recording and reporting any damage, shortages or quality issues
- Maintain accurate inventory and stock records using internal systems
- Label, store and move approved goods as required
- Keep storage areas clean, safe and well organised
- Support stock counts and audits
- Follow all health and safety procedures
Requirements:
- Experience in a goods-in, warehouse or inspection role
- Knowledge of engineering components and materials (e.g. metals, fasteners, machined parts)
- Strong attention to detail and quality awareness
- Ability to interpret delivery paperwork and basic technical information
- Basic IT skills, including spreadsheets or inventory systems
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
- Background in manufacturing or engineering environments
- Forklift licence or willingness to undertake training
