Polytec are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Inspector to join our client located in Ely. This is a key role responsible for inspecting incoming assemblies, subassemblies and components to ensure they meet engineering, customer and quality management system requirements before progressing through the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Verify the conformity of parts, assemblies and subassemblies against engineering drawings, specifications and quality requirements
  • Identify, document, and escalate nonconformances in accordance with company procedures
  • Use a variety of inspection and test equipment to collect accurate and repeatable measurement data
  • Complete inspection records accurately, ensuring full traceability and audit compliance
  • Support investigations into quality issues and nonconformances
  • Liaise with Production, Engineering and other departments to resolve manufacturing and quality-related concerns
  • Monitor the condition, maintenance and calibration status of inspection equipment
  • Maintain 6S standards within the inspection area and contribute to continuous improvement activities
  • Support wider Operations Quality activities and undertake additional duties as required to meet business objectives

Requirements

  • BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing quality inspection environment
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience using a range of inspection and measurement equipment
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection activities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive, proactive attitude with good problem-solving ability
  • The confidence to challenge product progression when quality concerns are identified
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working to tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
