We're looking for a talented Facilities Lead to join our client based in Ely. This is a hands‑on position suited to a technically strong facilities or building services professional with experience managing compliance, contractors and critical Mechanical/Electrical infrastructure within regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead maintenance and compliance of electrical and mechanical systems including HVAC, LV/HV systems, fire alarms, emergency lighting and plant equipment
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance
- Ensure compliance with UK health & safety and statutory regulations
- Supervise contractors and control Permit to Work activities
- Diagnose faults, manage repairs and support operational improvements
- Produce reports and performance dashboards relating to compliance, maintenance and energy usage
- Participate in call‑out rota and out‑of‑hours escalation support
Requirements
- Strong electrical engineering background within facilities management or building services
- Experience within large commercial or highly regulated environments
- Knowledge of CAFM, BMS and energy management systems
- Proven contractor and maintenance management experience
- Strong understanding of UK compliance and H&S legislation
- Ability to analyse and present operational or compliance data
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (required to support call‑out rota and out‑of‑hours escalation across Cambridgeshire sites)
Desirable
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- 18th edition qualified
- NEBOSH, IOSH, SMSTS or CDM training/certification
- Experience with Power BI, advanced Excel or reporting tools
- Knowledge of LOLER, PSSR or LEV regulations
