Robertson Recruitment are looking for a press brake operator who would be willing to join our experienced manufacturing company based in Mansfield on a permanent basis. In this role you will be operating the machines on a daily basis. You may be expected to do other tasks in the machine shop too.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am - 4:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Operate press brake machines to bend and form metal sheets and components based on blueprints and technical drawings.
- Set up and adjust machine controls for speed, material thickness, bend angle, and tooling.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and production schedules.
- Inspect parts for accuracy using measuring tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the press brake and tooling.
- Monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation, reporting any issues or malfunctions promptly.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and meet production deadlines.
- Follow company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Skills Required:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of metal types, thicknesses, and forming characteristics.
- Familiarity with Amada, Cincinnati, Trumpf, or similar press brake brands is a plus.
- Proficient in using measurement tools to ensure precision.
- Basic math and mechanical skills.
