This apprenticeship is designed to give you a strong foundation and real hands-on experience in mechatronics. You will learn across mechanical, electrical, electronic, fluid power, and control systems while working alongside experienced engineers.
You will gain practical skills in:
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Robotics and automation
- Control systems and maintenance
By the end of the programme, you will be a confident and adaptable Mechatronics Engineer, ready for a career in modern manufacturing and engineering.
Apprenticeship Structure:
- Year 1: Foundation Phase - You will build essential skills, knowledge, and workplace behaviours. Successful completion is required to progress.
- Year 2: Development Phase - You will apply what you have learned on the job, demonstrating practical competence and professional standards.
- Years 3 & 4: End Point Assessment - You will work towards your End Point Assessment (completed between months 42-45), including:
- A professional engineering interview
- An assessment with the exam board
What you will be doing:
- Learn core mechatronics principles (mechanical, electrical, electronic, fluid power, and control systems)
- Diagnose and fix faults in real-world maintenance situations
- Work with robotics, automation, and control systems
- Support the maintenance and improvement of complex machinery
- Attend college and meet academic and workplace targets
- Work safely and follow all health, safety, and company procedures
- Collaborate with others and contribute positively to the team
- Show a commitment to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement
You will enjoy working Monday to Friday.
